Get in touch
Questions, bugs and suggestions all go to the same place, and a person reads them.
If you are reporting something going wrong, these three things save a round trip:
- The app version, from Settings → Data sources
- Your device and its system version
- What you expected to see, and what you saw instead
An aircraft is missing
Most likely nothing is broken. Positions come from adsb.lol, which is fed by volunteers running receivers at home, so coverage depends on whether somebody near that aircraft is listening. It is thin over oceans, over sparsely populated places, and at low altitude — an aircraft below the horizon of every nearby receiver cannot be heard at all.
Some aircraft also broadcast a temporary anonymous address, and a few do not broadcast a position at all. Neither is something an app can work around.
Feeding a receiver of your own is the way to improve coverage where you live.
Not for navigation
YAFT is for looking up at the sky and knowing what is passing over. It is not a navigation or operational tool, coverage is never complete, and nothing in it should be relied on for anything that matters.
